Location: Richmond, VA metro city that is just one 1/2 hours south of Washington DC
Facility: A large group that has been well established in serving several hospitals throughout the state of Virginia.
Opportunity: Medical Director role. The incoming physician will be working in a mixed setting. They can have flexibility in the ratio of Inpatient to Outpatient services they wish to do with a minimum of 50/50 mix up to as high as 90% inpatient focus to 10% outpatient. They will be working with an all adult patient population. The incoming physician should be a team player and wants to be part of a small group, desires a high income potential and enjoys variety in their daily responsibilities; one can choose to maximize their time and work/life balance or choose to maximize their income potential – both are possible.
The weekly schedule will be comprised of 38-42 hours with Friday afternoons off; flexible scheduling will be accommodated if there are specific preferences. The electronic medical record software utilized at each hospital is Meditech & Epic. Call is 1:6 weekends and 1:8 weeknights. Weekday call schedule consists of phone call only, which starts at 5 PM and ends the following morning at 8 AM Monday through Thursday, but on Friday ends at 5am; weekend call starts Saturday at 5am and ends Sunday at 5pm
Weekend call starts Saturday at 5 AM and ends Sunday at 5 PM. Weekend call includes rounding plus call; when rounding on weekends, the incoming provider will round on patients for an average of 8 hours at any combination of the four currently contracted hospitals while serving as an integral part of a physician-led interdisciplinary team comprised of a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner and hospital personnel including licensed clinical social workers, registered nurses and other mental health professionals.
Compensation: This is a W-2 employed position. Starting salary for a staff psychiatrist ranges from $225,000 – $230,000 plus production; Medical Director and Clinical Director salaries start higher ($240,000 – $255,000). Production bonuses are paid out toward the end of the 1st year at a rate of $.57 for every dollar above breakeven when positive cash flow is generated, bringing the total earnings potential in year 2 in excess of $285,000.Commencement and Relocation Bonus up to $25,000 ++ Comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, 401K, and paid malpractice coverage. Continuing Medical Education stipend is $1,500.
